This page is dedicated to a few of the many notable or special refereeing assignments that some OSLRG Members have officated in the past, with both honor and distinction.

Alex Gorin, former USSR National Referee, who officiated many USSR Division 1 Professional matches and current member with the OSLRG, was voted NCAA Division 1 - Western Regional Referee of the year in 2009.  Alex is seen above, on September 24, 2010, as the referee for the match between UCSB vs UCLA, in front of the largest NCAA Division 1 Soccer Match in history, at about 16,000 spectators.

He is also considered one of the best NCAA Division 1 referees in the United States.  He has consistently been requested to officiate at the NCAA Division final 4 championships many times in the past 6 years. In December 2010, he will have been to his 5th NCAA DIVISION 1 Final 4 Championship as one of the referees.  Every year, only 6 referees, from among the 130,000 in the United States receive this honor.  Alex's 5th time in 6 years is an unprecedented accomplishment in refereeing.  Below is a small video clip of the crowd at the UCSB vs UCLA game on September 24, 2010.

Pre-season: UCLA Bruins 2-2 Inter

Friday, 17 July 2009 03:01:26

LOS ANGELES - Inter were held 2-2 by UCLA Bruins in their first outing of the pre-season in LA. New signings Milito and Thiago Motta made their first outings for the Nerazzurri, while youngsters Belec, Krhin, Obi and Destro all played a part for Mourinho's team.

After first-half chances for Muntari and Vieira the college side took the lead shortly before half time when Carasco nodded in a corner, but the teams were on level terms six minutes after the restart when Materazzi rose in the box to head home Mancini's corner.

Stankovic met a Mancini cross and headed into the top corner for Inter's second goal midway through the second half, but the home side equalised with twenty minutes remaining when Griffin latched on to a through ball from Munoz and held off a challenge before sliding past Orlandoni.

New signing Milito went close to a third goal when his header bounced off the outside of the post.

José Mourinho's team face Mexican outfit Club America at Stanford Stadium in Palo Alto on Sunday evening in their first match of the World Football Challenge.
